Dr. Tari's research has led to the development of six patents

GAINESVILLE, FL, October 03, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ana Tari, Director of Preclinical Operations and Research at Bio-Path Holdings, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in biochemistry.

As the director of preclinical operations and research at Bio-Path Holdings, Inc., Dr. Tari is responsible for the Company's evaluation and selection of new drug targets for licensing and development; design, source and direct preclinical studies; and be the primary scientific liaison to the scientific community and clinical trial sites. Dr. Tari's research in liposome delivery of nucleic acids has resulted in the issuance of numerous U.S. and international patents that are licensed to Bio-Path Holdings, Inc. She was the lead researcher who developed the Company's lead drug candidate that is currently in a Phase I clinical trial in blood cancers. Dr. Tari attributes her success to a lot of hard work, determination, and the support she receives from her family. She became involved in her profession because of her goal of eventually reducing cancer mortality rates.

Dr. Tari earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1992 and an MBA from the University of Florida, Gainesville in 2011. She is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research and Beta Gamma Sigma, Inc. In addition, she is an associate professor at The University of Florida. Her academic research focuses on developing tumor-targeting technology to enhance the delivery and effectiveness of anti-cancer drugs.

In the near future, Dr. Tari hopes to expand her business relationships and business experiences, and move into a more executive management role in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company.
