New Thermo Scientific Aspire RP30 Desalting Tips Offer a Quick and Clean Solution for Pre-LC/MS Sample Cleanup

HAMPSHIRE, UK, March 22, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, has introduced the new Thermo Scientific Aspire RP30 desalting pipette tips that purify, desalt and concentrate peptides or low molecular weight proteins. The Aspire tip is a 200 µl pipette tip containing a bed of proprietary Styrene-divinylbenzene (SDVB) reversed phase resin. The Aspire tips offer higher binding capacity (~4-6 fold higher) compared to conventional C18 desalting tips, allowing purification of up to 30 µg of total peptide from 15-200 µl sample volumes. They are most suitable for desalting and concentrating peptides, low molecular weight proteins (65 kDa or less) and complex protein samples prior to LC/MS and LC/MS/MS analysis, improving sensitivity and data quality. The Aspire tip purification method employs a color-coded, multichannel protocol which streamlines low to medium-throughput sample cleanup. Without the need for centrifugation, twelve samples can be rapidly processed in parallel within 20 minutes.
